Should I be worried???

As I type this, my husband, my brother-in-law, and my husband's best friend (who is a male)are seeing this movie!!!
No women, just 3 grown men going to see this! I can't stop laughing! Now, I have never read the books or seen the movie myself but from what I know, it is a chick-flick. I think they all think it is about vampires. I am dying! I can't wait to see what he says after he has seen it! Do your husbands or boyfriends have any moments where they get in touch with their feminine side? Please share!!!!

Parties, Parties, and more Parties

This week has been crazy. I can't believe Christmas is in a week! Where did the time go? Anyway, last Friday Sal, Salvador and I went to our ward Christmas party. It was beautifully decorated and my son has no fear of Santa. Santa came in and Salvador went running over and gave him the biggest hug! It was too cute!

Because finals week is this week, Sal has been super busy studying on his weekends. So Salvador and I went to my sister's Christmas party on Saturday. Same thing with Santa, the boy has no fear! I love it.

My favorite party of all was yesterday. My neice, Kate, had her fourth birthday party and it was a princess tea party at this cute little princess teahouse place over in Long Beach. She was told to invite 4 friends, so she invited 3 girls and Salvador. He was the only boy and he was to be the prince. Because I refused to spend money on a prince costume that would only be used for a party, I dressed him up in a blazer and khaki's, bought him a crown and a sword, because all princes have swords. It was so cute. I think he got a little bored though because there were SOOOOO many girl toys. He had absolutely no interest in the make-up or dolls or jewelry, so he mostly played with the tea set! It was so cute! He was big pimpin!!!!!Sal and Kate, the birthday princess!
The ladies-in-waiting! His harem of women (or girls)!

I was sitting in my living room before work this morning and realized I am truly blessed and I am really thankful for all I have. I am especially thankful that I have 3 weeks off for Christmas (starting Friday) and Sal will be done with school for the semester tomorrow and then be done with school in May! I CAN'T WAIT!! He actually got an early Christmas and graduation gift! I would say he is pretty spoiled!

This isn't his car, but the exact same car he has. It is a fully loaded 2006 Chevy Impala! We got the best deal, thanks to a member of the church who owns the dealership! He loves it and I am a little envious but I still love my minivan!

One last picture, I want to kiss those lips!!! Seriously, can he be any more cute?? I think not!

Meet Cheese!!!!!!

YEP, that is our pet turtle cheese!!!! Salvador got her from my in-laws for an early Christmas present! I am not really a pet person because I hate cleaning up after them. But luckily, I don't have to hold this one. Supposedly, turtles can carry samonella and because I am pregnant, I am not supposed to touch her. She is really pretty but she doesn't like me! Must be a girl thing! Everytime I walk by her tank, she used to go into her shell but now she just hides under her rock. Maybe she is warming up to me. Salvador loves her and Sal is so excited. He has been asking for a turtle for about 4 years now. Sal cleans her tank, Salvador feeds her in the morning and I usually turn on her heat lamp in the morning. She is fun to look at and makes a nice addition to our small home. Once we buy a home (that is a whole other post.Let's just say we have an offer in on a home and it is the third offer we have put in. AREN'T WE IN A HOUSING CRISIS???), we will buy her a bigger tank. As for now, she just swims around and once every couple days, she gets to go outside and play in the yard. Oh, just for the record on the name, when I asked Salvador what her name was, because it is HIS turtle, he thought about it and then said, "Cheese." Hence, the name Cheese!

Proud Mom!

I picked up Salvador from daycare/preschool today and to my suprise, he got an certificate of achievement today. I guess they were testing him on his Spanish speaking skills and out of all the bilingual kids, he was the only one that got a perfect score. They would give him commands in Spanish and he did every single one! Can I please just tell you that I almost started crying at preschool! Yep, my kid knows Spanish! I always get nervous that he doesn't really understand it but obviously he is catching on! He always talks to Sal in Spanish and when Sal talks to him, he always seems to know what he is saying. I just had a real good proud mom moment!

Over the weekend, Sal and I got to chaperone Homecoming for my school. It was so nice because I don't know the last time Sal and I went on a date and plus we had been stuck in the house with a sick child (who was feeling better by Saturday) and the horrible smoke. We went out to Outback for dinner first and then off to the dance! We had so much fun! We took goofy pictures and had fun staring at some of the very interesting dresses! We had a little too much fun with the camera!
This last picture is from about a month ago when we went to Disneyland! The two men I love most! I DIE over this picture!

O what a week!!

Two great things happened on Tuesday: Prop. 8 passed and Barack Obama became president-elect! In honor of our new president, my sister threw a celebratory dinner (it was actually before he was elected but we knew it was coming.
We had fried chicken, BBQ ribs, corn on the cob and mashed potatoes! It was delicious and filled our bellies!
I will say that I was super impressed with John McCain's speech! It was very moving and heartfelt! Although, I thought his crowd was rude but he was kind in quieting them down! I love that I was a part of history and knowing (and hoping) that someone is now if office that will help make our country better and try his best (with the help of some good advisors and Congress) to restore our economy, our health care system and education. Okay enough about politics, onto to some updates!
Halloween was great! My son got more candy than I can handle! We went to 2 trunk or treats and then went trick-o-treating! For our ward Halloween party, Sal and I dressed up as ghosts and Salvador was Mickey Mouse!
Sorry about the quality, it was from a camera phone! Here he is with his cousin Kate (that's right, it's a girl). She was supposed to be a cat but at the last minute decided she wanted to be Beast, one of Jake's old costumes. She cracks me up!

Overall, it has been a good couple of weeks! We put an offer on a house, we should hear by Monday at the latest and last Saturday we found out what we were having! We are having a ...

BOY!!!!!

That's right! Another boy in the house! We were hoping for a boy but expecting a girl, so it was a nice surprise to see that it was a boy! I don't think I have ever seen my husband so happy in his life! I think he actually loves me a little more these days because of it!

And just to end, I love this picture of my model son!

Interesting take on Prop. 8

I don't like to get political on my blog because most of my views differ from that of many of my friends. Yes, I am proud to be a Democrat. Anyway, that is beside the point. I do feel just as strongly about voting yes on Prop. 8 as many of my friends, church leaders and even colleagues. Unfortunately, because I am a member of the CTA, people assume that I will vote no on Prop. 8. WRONG! I will be voting yes on Prop. 8. This is such an interesting and very controversial topic, Sal posted an article he wrote for one of his classes on his blog. If you are interested to hear his take on prop. 8 (he too is voting yes), visit his blog at salvadormzuniga.blogspot.com It is very interesting and quite historical, so be prepared! I promise I will update with pictures and fun stories soon!

Craziness!!!

These past couple weeks have been a little crazy but when is life not crazy! So last week, Sal developed this small bump on the side of his hip, which we thought was an ingrown hair. Well, on Wednesday night (9/10), he was complaining that is really hurt so I took him to emergency and they said it was cellulitis, gave him some antibiotics and sent him on his way. Well, when I came home from girl's weekend (more to come), I came home to a giant boil on the side of his hip and him barely able to walk. So last Saturday, we went back to the emergency, he had 102.2 temp and after 5 hours in emergency, they cut it open and drained it. I will spare you the pics but lets just say it was super disgusting. Thankfully, he is feeling a lot better and his boil his much better!

That is Sal under the blanket in the emergency room.

Well, me being the good wife that I am, I left my sick husband at home (he told me to go) and went out for a fun weekend with my two bestest friends in the world. Kasey flew down from Sacramento and we picked up Sarah for a fun weekend. We started off with lunch at Ruby's, where we met up with Shauna and Kathi. Then it was off to the Irvine Spectrum where we spent 6 hours shopping, eating, trying on goofy things, fashion shows and rubbing elbows with celebrities. (I would love to post pictures but my computer is being really retarded. For pictures, see Kasey or Sarah's blogs on my link list).

After the Spectrum, we went down to Sarah's beach house and spent the night. Then next morning we went to a little place for breakfast and then headed to the beach. Overall, it was one of the best weekends. It's been a while since it was just the three of us. Sarah and I have been friends since freshman year and were roommates in college for a year. Kasey and I met senior year in high school but didn't really become best friends until right after high school and then we had some of the best and funniest experiences ever. I love both of these girls.

I wish I could post pictures but my computer has a virus, I think or it is just really slow.

So the other day, I was at work and had the strongest craving for Taco Bell nacho cheese. Crazy huh?? Why else do people crave Taco Bell????????

Yep, I am pregnant again! I have known for about a month but have forgot to post! I am 8 weeks and went and saw the heartbeat on Thursday. Dr. says everything looks good. I am just super, super tired and have no appetite after lunch. Other than that, things are good. I am due May 4th but because I am voluntary C-section, I am hoping they will take him or her earlier.

Hopefully by next post, my computer will be normal.

They say curls get the girls but...

I don't want my boy getting girls at the young age of 2 1/2. So it was time.

I told Sal I wanted to grow his hair out for a year, that was in February. But today, I just couldn't handle the hair anymore. It was an afro puff and crazy. I sure do miss the curls though. They were so cute!

A long post

I FINALLY found my attachment to upload my pictures so I figured I would do a quick recap of my summer with lots of photos and not much writing. I start back to work tomorrow (the 21st) and as much as I am NOT looking forward to it, I must say that summer was a blast. I would've like to hang out with friends more but it seemes everyone was pushing out babies. Maybe next time. Okay, so here it goes!
As a surprise for Sal's 30th birthday, we flew this guy (his brother Daniel) in from Colorado for a week. He hid in the backseat and when Sal came out to my car, I said there was something heavy and could he please get it!

We celebrated with a BIG birthday party for Sal. (Thanks Amanda and Summer for getting my husband addicted to Sprinkles Red Velvet. That was his birthday cake!! We love them!)We expressed our artistic abilites (or for me, lack of), even in places we weren't supposed to!!!

Then we cleaned up the artistic creativity! Can you say child labor??

For 4th of July, we spent a couple of days down in San Diego at a beautiful timeshare, that we don't own and it was free!! We went with sal's sister and family. It was so relaxing and so fun!!

Probably one of my favorite parts of the summer, we did my grandma's temple work and then sealed her to my grandpa and then sealed my dad and his brother to his parents. It was an amazing experience!!! Very spiritual and very cool to be apart of it. Each of the women in my family did some part of my grandma's work!
Took a quick trip to Arizona with Ili (my sister in law) and found these groovy hats!! If anyone wants one for their birthday, I know where you can get them!Went camping with my family to Lake Cachuma, minus my husband Sal (he had to to work.) Notice the nasty film of dirt around Salvador's mouth. No matter how much I washed him, he was ALWAYS dirty but we had a blast. The picture on top is called a yurt. That is what we stayed in. It is a mix between a teepee and a tent. It was cool and had beds!!
I met up with Jodie at Seal Beach pier. I haven't seen her in at least 7 years. I LOVE her! She is so fun and hope she will move back to California one day!! HINT, HINT!! While we were there, we ran into my friend Rachel, who I haven't seen since my wedding, that was 5 years! It was reunion day! Oh the picture on top, is of a guy that was on the pier fishing and looking for a wife. I almost took him up on his offer!!!!!!!!

For my 30th birthday in July, Sal took me to my favorite place in Long Beach, the Queen Mary. We took the haunted tour, which was really fun!! We first went to Sprinkles, then to the Queen Mary and then to Cheesecake Factory!!! It was a great day!

At the beginning of August, I had to go to Virginia for some teacher training. Luckily, I had my sister with me. We were in meetings from 8:30am-6:00pm at night. One night, we went into D.C. and took a night tour. I love D.C.!!!! I can't wait to go back! It is probably one of my favorite places in the U.S. It is absolutely beautiful and just takes your breath away! My camera died, so I was only able to get a few pictures of the many places we went. (If you ever go, know that when someone talks about the national mall, it isn't a big shopping mall. It is the place many of the monuments are. I thought I was going to do some major shopping!)

Overall, my summer was great. I got to spend a lot of time with Sal and Salvador, which I wanted to do before I went back to the demands of work. Only 10 more months and I get to do it all over again!!!!!
